There are some milestones in parenting that quietly take your breath away, and applying for your child’s first primary school place is one of them.
One minute they’re learning to put on their shoes, and reaching for your hand at every new step. The next, you’re filling in forms that mark the beginning of their formal school journey. It’s emotional, exciting, and a little bit surreal all at once.
This time of year carries so much hope. Hope for classrooms where they’ll feel safe and curious. For staff who’ll notice their strengths and gently support their wobbles. For friendships that start with shy smiles and turn into playground giggles and after-school stories.
